During navigation near Singapore roads a huge containervessel grounded.

 One of the leading Dutch Salvage companies Svitzer Salvage has been awarded the contract for the salvage operations of the m/v Maersk Kendal, which ran aground while navigating in the Singapore Straits near Pulau Sebarok,Singapore. Siri Marine has been contracted by the salvers to provide Motion and Hull Integrity monitoring services on board the m/v Maersk Kendal during the salvage operations. A SiriMarine Motion / Hull Integrity monitoring system, including operator, was mobilized to the salvage site on 16/09/2009 and the system was installed on board on 17/09/2009. The system monitors and displays roll / pitch / heave information and hull deflection and torsion. The system configuration is shown on page 3 of this document. All motion data is stored (25 Hz logfiles + 30 minute statistics) and this data is used for reporting and post-processing purposes. A Siri Marine operator is on site during the salvage operations and will assist the Salvage Master and Naval Architect on site with information and advice.
